With the strong conviction that "Faith Formation" is an on-going process, St. Mary Magdalene has Religious Formation programs from infancy through the senior years.

Preschool-Kindergarten

This program meets on the first three Sundays of every month throughout the school year, during the 10:30 Liturgy. The curriculum for three year olds through Kindergarteners incorporates lesssons, songs, stories, activities and prayer, based on the Liturgical year, in both the classroom and large group setting.

Element School Program (1st-6th grades)

This program brings the children together one day a week after school. The curriculum, based on the four pillars of the catechism: creed, sacrament, commandments and Beautitudes and prayer, is taught by parent catechists. This is accomplished through stories, skits, prayer and worship, service activities and crafts in both classroom and large group settings.

Middle School Program (Grades 7&8)

This program has students meeting in small groups in the homes of their catechists. The curriculum, based on the catechism, is broadly segmented into three topics that are each studied for six weeks. At the end of each six week session, the studens plan and implement a service project for the local community. All the seventh and eighth graders come together three times during the year for large group gatherings tha may include speakers, retreats, meals, games, pizza, etc.

Freshman and Sophomores

On Wednesday evenings, these students gather at Church as a large group. This catechesis unfolds as the students explore six topics throughout the two years: Three yearly service opportunities are also carried out at local nursing homes and the Wisconsin Veteran's Home. Adding in prayer services, activities, NET retreats, games and food - the High School program has become a comprehensive program involving many components of youth ministry.

Juniors and Seniors

Junior year begins preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation. This is a two year process where the students are placed in small faith groups in the home of their catechist. During those two years the students explore the many dimensions of the Catholic faith and experience what a faith group is all about. All seniors attend a weekend parish Confirmation retreat after which they may formally request the sacrament of Confirmation.

Intergenerational Catechesis

With faith formation being a lifelong process, Saint Mary Magdalene is now staring to focus on intergenerational catechesis. This concept brings preschoolers through adult seniors together for meaningful catechetical experiences. Three intergenerational gatherings are held during the school year. These programs center around liturgical themes and involve: prayer, music, programming and fellowship. All ages gather together to celebrate and experience our Catholic faith and traditions.

Young Neighbors In Action (YNIA)

Our high school students have the opportunity to spend a week in the summer to serve others, and to be served, through various mission trips. This year's trips have our Freshmand and Sophomores students going to Chicago, IL to help at various locations around the Chicago area. Our Juniors and Seniors are going back to El Paso, TX to assist families across the border in Juarez, Mexico with various service projects.
