We are forming a new ministry at St. Mary Magdalene’s. It is the Grief Ministry (Ministry of Comfort) and is dedicated to the offering of consolation. It is not just about funerals. It is about the continuous gospel presence to those suffering through all the events we call living and dying.
“The Church calls each member of Christ’s Body – priest, deacon, layperson – to participate in the ministry of consolation: to care for the dying, to pray for the dead, to comfort those who mourn.”
Order of Christian Funerals
We will be offering a grief/comfort training for anyone who is interested in becoming a minister of consolation on Tuesday, May 14 from 5-8pm. Watch the bulletin for more information.
