The Social concerns Committee will be hosting a six-week Lenten video/book Bible study entitled Justice For The Poor. It will be held on Sundays after Mass beginning February 26 and ending April 1. The sessions will run one hour and include a video, Bible study, questions for discussion and group activities. A participant’s guide is required and costs $10.00. Join us for a compassionate and timely Adult Education workshop about End of Life Planning from a Catholic Perspective. Typical questions about end of life issues: Must medical treatment always be continued? Are Catholics allowed to have Living Wills? What is Church teaching about “Death with Dignity”? How do I make my Catholic health care directive? Father Xavier will address these questions and others during this workshop on May 7th at St. Mary Magdalene Parish Waupaca at 5:30 pm, and will provide steps for putting together a valid Catholic Health Care Directive. A representative from Southern Care Hospice will share information myths and facts along with patient care(Speaker provided by the Health and Wellness Committee). Speaker John Tetzloff, Advanced Case Specialist for Catholic United Financial, will also be on hand to speak about the financial aspects of end of life decisions, including final expenses, estate plans, charitable giving, power of attorney and more.
