The Social Concerns Committee sponsors a Fair Trade product sale on the fourth weekend of the month before or after masses. Fair Trade products most importantly strive to give people a fair wage for their work. They also make it a goal to grow their products organically and to be environmentally conscien- tious. We sell Fair Trade coffee, candy bars, and tea with- out a profit so that we have an opportunity to educate and promote the concept of Fair Trade to the people in our parish. Something new we are trying is a drawing for a free Fair Trade product every month. In September, Jeanne Smith won the drawing for a free dark chocolate candy bar. Don’t forget to sign up for our drawing the weekend of October 23/24 ! Questions can be directed to Lauri VandenBoom, chairperson of the Social Concerns Committee. (715-258-3962).
