St. Mary Magdalene

There once was a follower of Jesus who loved him enough to have the courage to watch him be crucified. He, in turn, loved her enough to choose her as the first to know of his resurrection. Kathleen Husley

Mary of Magdala was a strong woman leader, one of a group of woman who followed Jesus and ministered to Him out of their own means. Along with Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary the wife of Cleopas, Joanna and Susanna, Mary of Magdala remained at the foot of Jesus' cross, faithful even in the face of His fearsome death.

She was the first witness to His Resurrection and it was she who Jesus sent to tell the apostles that He had indeed risen from the dead. For this reason she has come to be known as the "Apostle to the Apostles".
