Mass Coordinator

(Minimum age is 18). Coordinates all aspects of the
Liturgical Celebration, including Servers, Eucharistic
Ministers & Set-up Minister, Lectors and Hospitality
Ministers. Scheduled approximately twice a month and for Holy
Days and special celebrations as needed. Training is required.

(Minimum age is 18). Has a love of the Eucharist and shares
the Body and Blood of Jesus to the gathered Assembly.

Take Communion To People In Area Nursing Homes on Sunday

(Minimum age is 18). Shares Eucharist with nursing home
residents in Waupaca and/or Iola after 8:30 AM Sunday Mass.
Training is required.

Take Communion To Area People Who Are "Homebound"

(Minimum age is 18). Shares Eucharist and visits with homebound
individuals in their homes as requested. Training is required.

Lector

(Minimum age is 16). Has a love of the Scriptures and is able
to proclaim the Word in a prayerful and articulate manner.
Lectors are scheduled approximately once a month and for Holy Days
and special celebrations as needed. Training is required.

Minister of Hospitality/Usher

Distributes Worship Aids, assists arriving members of the
Assembly in locating seating before Mass, invites individuals
to bring forward the gifts of bread and wine, receives the collection
form the Assembly and brings it to the altar at the appropriate
time, assists people in moving forward to receive Eucharist, is
available to help in case of emergency during Mass, distributes
bulletins, straightens chairs and helps put the church in order
after each liturgy.

Greeter

Welcomes people to weekend liturgies in a friendly and outgoing manner.

Sacristan

Prepares the Worship Space, Priest and Servers for a weekend Mass.
Training is provided.

Altar Server for Weekend And Special Liturgies

(5th Grade through Adult). Assists Presider at Weekend
Liturgies, Holy Day Liturgies, Sacramental Celebrations and other
services as requested. Training is required.

(Adult). Assists Presider at Weekend Liturgies, Holy Day Liturgies,
Sacramental Celebrations and other services as requested.

Care for Altar Linens

Launders in your own home, hand towels and launders and irons
napkins (purificators), altar cloths and other cloths
used at Liturgy (approx. once a month).

Care for Vestments

Launders and mends in your own home, Presider and Server
robes (albs) as needed (usually 1-2 times/year).

Candle and Sacristy Maintenance

Cleans and polishes candle stands, incense stand and other
sacristy items on an as-needed basis. Special need for volunteers
prior to Christmas and Easter.

Plan and Assist with Church Environment

Works with Art and Environment team to create a beautiful and
appropriate space for prayer and worship. Ongoing training is provided.

Care of Plants - Indoors

Works with Art and Environment team planting, watering and otherwise
tending plants indoors. Need for indoor volunteers year-round.

Small Faith Community

Meets in members' homes - time, place and frequency to be decided
by members of the group (usually once a month). Applies faith to life.

Thursday Afternoon Prayer Group

Meets in Spirit Room for weekly prayer and Bible study. Receives,
prays for and passes on prayer requests submitted by parishioners and others.

FOCCUS Couples(Ministry to the Engaged)

Meets with engaged couples using a written tool called FOCCUS
(Facilitating Open Couples Communication, Understanding & Study.)
Training is required.

Baptism Preparation

Participates with Pastoral Staff in preparation sessions with parents;
assist with Baptisms at Mass.

Rosaries

Makes Rosaries - either alone or in a group - to be distributed to
parishes, schools, hospitals, in the U.S., the military and missions
around the world.

Prayer Shawls

Knits and/or crochets Prayer Shawls for individuals who suffer because
of illness, age, physical or emotional disability. Work either individually
or with a group fashioning shawls in an atmosphere of prayer and reverence.

Sunday Morning Mass Choirs

Sings for either the 8:30 or 10:30 Mass on Sunday. Ability to read music
not required but helpful. Choirs practice one half-hour before their respective
Masses every Sunday. In addition, choirs are responsible for leading music on
special occasions (Easter, Christmas, etc.). Tuesday afternoon rehearsals from
September through May. There are also opportunities for solos, both vocal and
instrumental, within these ensembles. There is no audition - all are welcome!

Resurrection Choir

Sings at funerals. Members of this group are drawn from the 8:30 and 10:30 Mass
choirs. For this reason it is necessary that members have a certain flexibility of schedule.

Celebration Band

Joins an exciting new contemporary ensemble! This group comes complete
with a large group of instrumentalists and 20+ singers who use microphones.
The focus of this prayer-based group is the incorporation of contemporary
Christian music into our weekly Liturgy. Sight-reading and harmony singing are
required of any singer. Rehearsals are every other Sunday evening and the group
leads music once a month at the 10:30 am Mass. Rehearsal schedules are provided.

Children's Choir

Sings as part of a group composed of girls and boys, in grades 2-6.
Requirements - children must be able to read and must enjoy singing. Elementary
music concepts, percussion and movement to energetic music are also included.
Children meet approximately every other Monday evening for one hour and lead music
once a month at the 10:30 am. Mass. Schedules are provided at rehearsals.

Cantor

Leads with a clear, strong voice, has good leadership skills, and is comfortable
singing in front of the Assembly. Some music reading is required. Anyone wishing
to cantor should schedule an appointment to sing for the Coordinator of Liturgical Music.
The cantor must practice with the organist or directory before his/her appointed
Mass time. Initial individual training will be provided. Occasionally, the cantor
may be asked to sing for special occasions.

Instrumentalists

Plays any instrument. Opportunities will be varied - instrumentalists will play
at weekly liturgies as well as special feasts. Organists, pianists, guitarists,
strings, brass players, flutists, oboists, and percussionists are especially needed.
