Bands Highlight St. Mary Magdalene Summer Festival 2011

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, the parish serving Waupaca and the surrounding area, has announced the schedule for their Annual Summer Festival to be held on the church grounds in Waupaca July 16 and July 17, 2011. Three live musical performances, free to all attendees, are highlighted over the two-day festival.

According to Vanessa and Terry Bock co-chairs of the 2011 Festival Planning Committee, “Building on the success of last year’s music festival theme we continue our effort to appeal to the broadest cross-section of the greater community with our plans for this year. In the spirit of WI tradition we have a band booked for Sunday morning that features polkas in their mix of music and fun for all ages and all family members. Based on their popularity from last year we are welcoming back the Groove Hogs on Saturday night and mellowing things out on Sunday afternoon once again with River Cities Jazz. We have plenty of family fun as always; with our usual kids’ area filled with games and activities for the wee ones. Fundraisers include a silent auction and raffles for prizes including a 24” dual-gender mountain bike and $1,000 cash. Also, new for this year, we’re closing Saturday night with a bang- our Saturday finale’ is a fireworks show starting at 10pm.”
